Last year was my first time to attend Beaverstock (which has since been changed to Whale Rock Music Festival) at Castoro Cellars on Highway 46 East outside of Paso Robles and it is well worth the ticket price for the music, atmosphere and for how much fun my daughter (who was 7 at the time) had in the kids' area and dancing to the music.
It is one of the few (I can't think of any others, though) that has a dedicated area and activities for children. AND children 12 and under get in free! My daughter loved the musical petting zoo (she got to try out different instruments with musicans and volunteers from the SLO Symphony), climbing through and on an old and HUGE tree, and dancing to the music. Another favorite was the silent disco--everyone dons head sets with different music playing, so everyone has a little different beat to music you can't hear.
