Paso Robles Pioneer Day is this Saturday, October 10. This year marks the 85th anniversary of this unique community celebration.
I grew up in Paso Robles, so I have enjoyed the festivities since I was a child. My favorite thing about Pioneer Day is that it occurs almost entirely as it was originally intended. Year after year, the Pioneer Day Committee keeps with age-old traditions, which makes the event almost exactly how I remember it as a child.
The first Pioneer Day was organized by volunteers working to provide a day of community friendship, to commemorate the Paso Robles heritage, and to say “thank you" to those who supported the businesses and professional community of the area. This year the committee has added some special activities to celebrate the event's 85th anniversary. And keeping with tradition, the whole day is FREE!
